It breaks my heart every time I pass by this oldest temple in the island and see this aged lady standing under the scorching sun trying to make a living by selling lucky envelopes with lottery tickets in them.
Wearing a pair of slippers, a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath a top to protect herself from the sun with a worn-out umbrella, she would try to reach out to those who go to pray inside the temple, then got disappointed. Despite that, she would try to reach out again to the next strangers. Again and again.
If you ever pass by the temple or go in to pray, please be kind to help. It doesn't cost you too much to have a heart for those who struggle in life and are trying to make ends meet with all they only have. Be kind. Have a heart.
